Days on the Farm for Schools and Groups

Design the visit of your group or class with us!

A program that aims to involve varied groups in the contact with Quinta do Vale da Lama and its routines as a Regenerative Agriculture and Permaculture farm.

An opportunity to get to know and explore specific educational topics or to simply benefit from direct contact with the surrounding nature and it’s seasonal routines.

The program covers a wide range of possible projects: field trips and workshops, themed sessions, sessions designed to be adapted to school curriculum and group camps.

The activity is always designed to meet availability and time schedules, budgets and available resources, age and special needs, as well as curiosities and educational objectives of each group or school.

WHAT’S A REGENERATIVE AGRICULTURE AND PERMACULTURE FARM?

Regenerative Agriculture aims for the regeneration and maintenance of, not only cultures, but the entire food production system, including rural communities and consumers . This regeneration of agriculture should take into account( in addition to economic aspects) ecological , ethical and social equity issues.

“Permaculture is a philosophy of working with, rather than against nature; of protracted and thoughtful observation rather than protracted and thoughtless labour; of looking at plants and animals in all their functions, rather than treating any area as a single-product system”.

Bill Mollison, co-creator of the concept of Permaculture

Vale da Lama farm is an experimental place of both ideas and concepts. It is a place of learning through practical experiences with the goal of relearning ways of rural living.

Come see how our project is implementing this idea!
